Two pictures and the idea of justice

A kite maker in J&K giving 'Indian' colors to the threads. Demand for tricolored kites soar in January and August.

The Indian paramilitary force stands guard in a curfew in Srinagar.

Why does the state continue to burn? What is justice in the sense of the word? Is justice being done to Kashmiris for whom death is an everyday affair? Or is it being done to the paramilitary forces whose days are no less bloodier? And we celebrate India's 63rd Independence. Independent? Really? Call me a cynic. After all, truth has no shades of grey. Oh and also, Jai Hind.

Remarkable pictures!

I hope there is a solution to our nation's problems - for every single one of them!

@rakesh: wishful thinking??!! And now they're talking about giving Kashmir an autonomous status. Isn't this just wonderful?

Happy 63rd Independence :)
