You pretend and respect people and institutions you think are absurd. You live attached in a cowardly fashion to moral and social conventions you despise,condemn and which you know lack foundations. It is that permanant contradiction between your ideas and desires and all dead formalities and vain pretenses of your civilization that make you sad, troubled and unbalanced.
In that untolerable conflict, you lose all joys of life and personality...because at every moment they suppress and restarin and check the free play of your powers.
THAT is the poisoned and mortal wound of what you call the CIVILIZED WORLD.

I think the world is beginning to realise that there's more to gain by letting people be themselves.
I mean like there are firms that let employees dress down and walk in with a pair of jeans. You could have a chat with the boss in the coffee room and don't have to give a damn since they're more forgiving (...and because jobs are plenty to go around).
BTW, I was just searching for other people who think the Guns of Navarone is a good movie and then I came across your blog. I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of it though - some of the search results don't have any mention of the Guns of Navarone.
hey!! really sorry for the late reply..blame it on the exmas :P well..walking in with a pair of jeans isn't really my idea of being myself..these liberties are just an eyewash..how many people are actually let freee to do the kind of projects they want to take up or conduct research on?? I mean..we are supposed to be engineers..but when have we been let to 'engineer' something?? You come up with an idea n there are thousands of bosses who'd come up witj 'So, Mr.X..what about the initial costs??'..i mean what the hell??
O n about GUNS OF NAVARONE..well as i've mentioned it in my profile...i'm bound to have seen it more than once!! In my opinion it is the BEST WW-II movie ever made..and gregory peck *sigh*..where do u find such actors anymore????
