Of life in short orgasms…

Snow flakes and diamonds
The sharp heels
The perfume that smells of anxiety
The warm eiderdown
Nothing asked, nothing told
God stabbed under her skin
Between acts of a play almost written
The dried paint on her lips
The ringing cash registers
She pretends to dress
As she hums the tune her mother sang her once
And brushes the song off her shooulders
Lost at the cross-roads
Under snow flakes and diamonds

Hi,
This a friend of Karan's. Have read all your posts and have loved every single one that you've penned down on womanhood. Must say, you're a phenomenal writer. You have a way with words. esp, the way you've written 'the pink bedspread'. felt like you're directing a movie with instances of flashback at the exact moments. you have an innate and deft ability to switch between abstract and simple writing. At times you give it straight, like a slap on the face and at times you hide it amongst carefully sewn words.Even now, with this piece, you've carefully chosen words (like 'God stabbed under her skin') and have beautifully expressed the obvious without being harsh. I failed to understand a few of your poems but thats just daftness on my part. You are extremely capable :)

Cheers!
